A: Divide your total time by your distance. For example, running 5 miles in 45 minutes gives a pace of 9 minutes per mile (45 ÷ 5 = 9).
A: A comfortable beginner pace is typically 9:30 to 11:00 minutes per mile (about 6:00 to 6:50 per kilometer). The goal is a sustainable effort you can hold while talking.
A: Multiply minutes per mile by 0.621. To go the other way, multiply minutes per kilometer by 1.609.
